First Nonprofit Announces Endorsement by Community Action Partnership

Community Action Agencies to Benefit from First Nonprofit’s Cost-Effective Insurance Solutions

CHICAGO, Ill., March 19, 2019 – First Nonprofit (FNP), a leading provider of insurance programs to nonprofit and government entities, today announced the endorsement of FNP’s unemployment insurance programs by Community Action Partnership (CAP), a national non-profit membership organization that provides technical assistance, training, and other resources to Community Action Agencies (CAA).

FNP will provide CAP and its employer network with state-compliant, individually insured, cost-saving options to satisfy State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) tax requirements. By participating in FNP’s insurance programs, CAAs will benefit from enduring savings and improved efficiencies to better serve constituents and further their missions.

Denise Harlow, Chief Executive Officer of the National Community Action Partnership, said, “As the hub for over a thousand of the nation’s local Community Action Agencies, we are always looking for opportunities to connect local agencies to products and solutions that generate savings on the operational side of the business, so they are able to invest more money in their missions. First Nonprofit is the ideal partner, having already worked with many of our members to implement savings options. We look forward to working together to strengthen the positive social impact of our member agencies.”

FNP currently serves more than 50 CAAs across the country. Over the past two years, FNP has helped CAA customers generate significant savings on more than $400,000 on SUI taxes in their first year alone.

About FNP: More than 2,000 organizations with over half a million employees nationwide rely on FNP for state-compliant, individually insured, cost-saving options that satisfy SUI requirements for 501(c)3 nonprofit, government and tribal entities. FNP operates within The Amynta Group, an industry leading group of warranty, managing general agent and specialty risk companies.

About CAP: Community Action Partnership is a national, 501(c)3 nonprofit membership organization that provides technical assistance, training, and other resources to CAAs, nonprofit and public groups funded by the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), a federal program that allocates funding to states to connect Americans to greater opportunity.

We were introduced to First Nonprofit through another housing authority. In our analysis and comparison to what we were paying the State, our first year savings was $5,800 plus. We have been with them since the end of 2008 and I am glad we have been. I consider them an arm of our HR department.

Because INCS advocates for the operating conditions that allow charter public schools to provide high quality public education, partnering with First Nonprofit was an easy decision. First Nonprofit’s unemployment programs provide our member schools two operating elements crucial to their ability to provide high quality public education: savings and budget certainty. Capable, committed teachers are the key to student success. By participating in the unemployment insurance savings plan, charter public schools gain peace of mind and are able to invest more money in their teachers.

Throughout our membership in the Unemployment Savings Program, First Nonprofit understood our demands, community dynamics, and the importance of seamless services; that allowed us to serve our constituents better.
