First Nonprofit Group will be in attendance at the New York Council of Nonprofits' thirteenth annual Camp Finance conference. The event will provide member organizations the chance to learn more about fiscal responsibility and actions they can take to become financially agile. NYCON has focused on dealing with changes to the economy, state law and public perception since its inception. The council also helps participating groups craft a forward-facing strategy that allows nonprofits to not only survive, but thrive as well. The event is scheduled to take place on October 9th and 10th at the Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, New York.
One area where nonprofits are often able to save money is through alternatives to traditional state unemployment insurance tax (SUTA). Instead of having to adhere to paying the tax like for-profits must do, nonprofit groups can elect to become reimbursing employers. Through this option, organizations pay out unemployment claims on a dollar-for-dollar basis, eliminating the excess loss of funds that often occurs when contributing to SUTA pools. With the help of savings and security options from First Nonprofit Group, as well as assistance in administering claims, nonprofits can realize significant savings in this area while also fully meeting their responsibility to pay out legitimate jobless claims. NYCON is itself a First Nonprofit Group partner.
A variety of keynote addresses will be offered on various financial subjects at the conference, with a focus on New York state's Nonprofit Revitalization Act as well as the impact of the Affordable Care Act on nonprofit groups. To learn more, and to sign up, follow this link.

NYCON members who use First Nonprofit’s programs enjoy enduring savings and improved efficiency. Our association knows that success, because from the beginning, we achieved the same great benefits. Great savings, seamless technology, and responsive service. NYCON highly recommends First Nonprofit’s remarkable unemployment solutions.
We were introduced to First Nonprofit through another housing authority. In our analysis and comparison to what we were paying the State, our first year savings was $5,800 plus. We have been with them since the end of 2008 and I am glad we have been. I consider them an arm of our HR department.
Because INCS advocates for the operating conditions that allow charter public schools to provide high quality public education, partnering with First Nonprofit was an easy decision. First Nonprofit’s unemployment programs provide our member schools two operating elements crucial to their ability to provide high quality public education: savings and budget certainty. Capable, committed teachers are the key to student success. By participating in the unemployment insurance savings plan, charter public schools gain peace of mind and are able to invest more money in their teachers.
Throughout our membership in the Unemployment Savings Program, First Nonprofit understood our demands, community dynamics, and the importance of seamless services; that allowed us to serve our constituents better.
