Loss Control Tip
Summer’s here and it’s hot. Protect your staff and clients against heat-induced illness when working or playing outdoors. Be aware of high temperature forecasts for your area. Many weather web sites offer daily e-mail alerts.
Symptoms of heat exhaustion include headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, upset stomach, moist skin, and weakness. Symptoms of heat stroke include mental confusion and dry, hot skin with no sweating.
Prevent heat-related illness by knowing the signs and symptoms. Monitor your staff and clients. Drink plenty of water. Avoid alcohol and caffeinated drinks. Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothes. And avoid prolonged exposure to direct sun.
