Linda Kirk, Administrative Assistant, has been an integral member of the First Nonprofit Group team for over 17 years. While the company has developed and its course has shifted over the years, Linda has always been a key member of the unemployment insurance department. Her dedication and resourcefulness has made Linda an expert at helping nonprofits around the country save significantly on their State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) costs.
When she was first hired, Linda assumed the responsibility of a variety of different tasks, from accounting and state agency coordination, to managing client records for the Unemployment Savings Program. When the Bonded Service Program was introduced, Linda became a vital component of all new member onboarding. Plus, when a nonprofit organization joins one of our money saving programs (whether the Bonded Service Program or the Unemployment Savings Program), the new member must change their unemployment tax status with their respective state agency. Linda successfully manages and accomplishes this conversion and accompanying paperwork before the state deadline to ensure that new clients are able to benefit from our programs as soon as possible. With Linda’s expertise our nonprofit clients are able to save as much money possible on their SUI costs, which can be better applied towards furthering their missions.
When asked about the favorite part of her job, Linda’s response was simple: “Everything!” Her daily tasks helping mission-driven nonprofits and working closely with her colleagues on the First Nonprofit team makes her job enjoyable, very important and worthwhile.
Outside of the office, Linda loves relaxing and enjoying the gorgeous container garden in her backyard on the west side of Chicago. Reading in her gazebo and maintaining that garden is how she relaxes the most throughout beautiful city summers.
NYCON members who use First Nonprofit’s programs enjoy enduring savings and improved efficiency. Our association knows that success, because from the beginning, we achieved the same great benefits. Great savings, seamless technology, and responsive service. NYCON highly recommends First Nonprofit’s remarkable unemployment solutions.
We were introduced to First Nonprofit through another housing authority. In our analysis and comparison to what we were paying the State, our first year savings was $5,800 plus. We have been with them since the end of 2008 and I am glad we have been. I consider them an arm of our HR department.
Because INCS advocates for the operating conditions that allow charter public schools to provide high quality public education, partnering with First Nonprofit was an easy decision. First Nonprofit’s unemployment programs provide our member schools two operating elements crucial to their ability to provide high quality public education: savings and budget certainty. Capable, committed teachers are the key to student success. By participating in the unemployment insurance savings plan, charter public schools gain peace of mind and are able to invest more money in their teachers.
Throughout our membership in the Unemployment Savings Program, First Nonprofit understood our demands, community dynamics, and the importance of seamless services; that allowed us to serve our constituents better.
